Short Story
5 years ago, Konstantinos was diagnosed with autoimmune post–herpes simplex encephalitis. Today, 10-year-old Konstantinos is suffering from severe psychokinetic delay. He can no longer speak or walk, he is experiencing epileptic crisis, while he is fed through a nasogastric tube. According to the pediatrician who monitors his condition, the child’s physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions need to increase in frequency, in order for his chewing and swallowing to improve and in order for his musculoskeletal system to strengthen. At the same time, the family needs to immediately procure a standing device, a specialized chair with embedded support brace, as well as a pressure-relieving mattress, which are essential for his daily needs.
A viral infection turned Konstantinos’ life upside down! The little fighter needs us by his side!

Campaign Story
Konstantinos had always been an energetic and healthy boy. This all changed however 5 years ago, when the little guy suddenly developed high fever and spasms. His mother rushed him to the hospital. The spasms however wouldn’t subside and Konstantinos had to be intubated and transferred to the PICU. During his hospitalization, he was subjected to a series of tests and was ultimately diagnosed with autoimmune post–herpes simplex encephalitis.
Today, Konstantinos is 10 years old. He is suffering from severe psychokinetic delay.
Treatments, medical and medicinal expendable supplies, orthopedic equipment, are just some of the expenses the family has to cope with. Little Konstantinos’ mother has found herself in a financial dead end. The child’s health-related expenses are gradually increasing, while the family’s income has been dramatically reduced, since she can no longer return to her job. The young mother recently reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS. The Organization’s specialized staff immediately came in contact with the social services and the professionals who are treating him, and without wasting any precious time, we organized an aid campaign in order to support this family, who has been facing an uphill struggle.
A child got confined to the bed, from one minute to the next and his life hasn’t been the same ever since. Together, we have the power to improve it! We join forces for little Konstantinos!
